JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI – The 12th annual Midwest Conference On Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse June 24 – 26 will include a keynote address on “Meeting the Behavioral Health Needs of Veterans and Active Duty Military: Substance Use, Gambling, and Mental Health” by Dr. Heather Chapman, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and National Certified Gambling Counselor. The Missouri Gaming Association is a member of the consortium sponsoring the conference.
“The Missouri casino industry wholeheartedly supports the conference and its efforts to develop the most effective ways to treat problem gambling and substance abuse,” said Mike Winter, executive director of the Missouri Gaming Association, a conference sponsor and member of the Midwest Consortium on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse.
The three-day multi-state summit, to be held at the Hilton Kansas City Airport, features internationally and nationally renowned experts in the fields of problem gambling, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Last year, more than 250 people from around the country attended the conference.
